1926

From the wildest regions of New Hampshire comes the news that Sherm Adams '20 has retreated even deeper into the wilderness. After several years' fine experience with the Parker-Young company at Lincoln, he has been sent to the little town of Waterville to act as assisant superintendent of a tremendous new lumbering company. 1927

Charlie Starrett '26 made his debut in a thriller at the Heckshaw The atre. He had a good scene where he jumped out from behind a cabinet and said, "Hands up!" (June 1927)

1928

Ted Geisel '25, as you may have noticed, is getting rather prolific in Judge under the old time pen-name "Seuss," his middle moniker. (March 1928)

1931

Joe Losey '27 is stage manager of Jed Harris's new play, "Alibi," in which Charles Laughton, the famous English star of "Payment Deferred," has the lead. (March 1931)

1931

Bob Rolfe '31, who had been signed by the New York Yankees, was released by that club to the Albany team of the Eastern League. This happened about the middle of the summer. We feel pretty sure that anyone with Red's natural baseball ability won't require too much seasoning. He'll be back in Mr. Ruppert's establishment by next year. (March 1931)'

1939

Budd Schulberg '36 is in Norwich working on his first full-length novel. Glad to learn that Budd was actually far removed from the finished product of filmonstrosity number one "Winter Carnival." (December 1939)

1940

Around Manhattan-From the East Side comes the familiar chirping of CHICKKoop '37—doing well in third year at Cornell Med., reaffirming the oft repeated virtues of married life. (May 1940)

1958

Farnk Gilroy '50 is also making his mark in a literary way. Television viewers will have seen some of his work, particularly a couple of westerns which have been acclaimed by the critics. (December 1958)

1964

Paul Tsongas '62 has now started his work at Yale Law School after two eventful years with the Peace Corps in Ethiopia. The highlight of Paul's two years was the visit of Emperor Haile Selassie who personally inspected and dedicated a 56-student dormitory which Paul helped build. (December 1964)

1971

I suggest that our New York area classmates be on the lookout for plays starring David Birney '61. (May 1971)

1971

Don meanwhile had gone to Oxford last year to be in a production with BobReich '68, and is currently working with Jerry Zaks '67 in a Children's Theatre Project in New York City. (June 1971)

1981

From waiting around the Bull's Eye to N.F.L. stardom? From struggling to beat out Tex Collins to displacing Jan Stenerud? From evenings in the Tri-Kap tube room to evenings with sparrowminded blondes? Yes, this fairy tale actually came true for Nick Lowery '78. After establishing the N.F.L. record for the number of times he was cut in a twoyear period, Nick won a job as the starting kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs. (March 1981)
