Last month, Dave Shula was in the news because of his appointment as head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. This month, its Leslie Maglathlin Shula! The Cincinnati Post ran a spread on Leslie, "The Coach's Wife," in early January. It sounds like Cincinnati will be great for Leslie and Dave and their three sons.

Pat Berry just gave birth to her first baby, Margaret Victoria, on February 1. Both mom and baby are doing fine, and Pat is all set up to work from home with computers, modems, and all the rest. She is currently senior editor for Sports Illustrated for Kids.

Also in the publishing world, JakeWinebaum, who started the magazine Family Fun last year, recently sold the magazine to Disney. As reported by the New York Times, Disney felt the magazine was a "must have" for their portfolio of family and entertainment publications. Jake will remain as editor and publisher.

Peter Wright was married recently to Linda Trafton in Needham, Mass. Linda is a graduate of Colby Sawyer and Peter is partner of Hewitt associates.

Robert Hoffman was named a principal of Scudder, Stevens & Clark in January. Congrats!

Beth Shapiro had her second baby, Jonathan, in early December. Beth is currently working on her dissertation in economics.

I recently spoke with Andy Stein to catch up after many years. He is a bankruptcy lawyer in New York City. Much to the delight of those who know his cartooning, he is continuing to draw and has his editorial cartoons published in many papers including the Ft. Worth Star Telegraph, the Journal Newspaper in D.C., and others. Andy is now married and tells a wonderful story about getting together with his wife. They were classmates in elementary school, and Andy hadn't seen Jane in years. He decided to see if she lived in New York City. Letting his fingers do the walking, he found three possibilities in the phone book and called them. The rest, as they say, is history!

More next month. Cheers!
