John McClintock gave you all the dope on our mini-reunion in his July newsletter. Let's have a big turn-out. Come see the Dartmouths triumph over the Harvards. Remember, this is a three-day affair, starting Thursday, October 28. If any of you are planning on being late starters, I suggest you call Whitey Burnham at (603) 643-4610.
Tracked down a few men we haven't heard about for some time. Fred Embree is retired, and has been for ten years. Now living in Melville on Long Island. He put in 34 years with General Electric. Bob Hunt is very much not retired. Bob's in Avon, Conn., and practices law in Hartford. He's a specialist in bond law. He's been town counsel for Avon for 25 years, and that's some record! Found Milt Fromson still in Cleveland. He's been in the real-estate and insurance business for many years. And how many of you know that he once coached football at Hiram College in Ohio? Milt has six children and 11 grandchildren, and he vacations at a place he has in Chautauqua, N.Y. Now, you all know what that place is famous for, besides Milt Fromson. Milt says he shoots in the eighties in golf, in keeping with a long-standing '46 tradition of lying about golf handicaps. Bob Hunt was forthright. Doesn't play golf at all. Instead, he's an avid fly fisherman. I didn't dare ask what he's caught, fearing his answer might rival the great golf-scores scam. Bob says he's fished all the nation's hot spots.
As reported by McClintock, WellesFendrich pulled up stakes in Princeton, N.J., and is now in Buffalo Grove, 111. That's outside of Chicago. I spoke to him, and he's thrilled with his new career with CRL Industries. Business must be good because he's planning to move to the even larger metropolis of Deerfield, Ill. How about that Welles! A new career and a lot of us sitting around. Good for you, Welles, and the best.
McClintock also told you a little about Marty Marino. I spoke to him too. He's been in Orford, N.H., for four years now, but he's not retired. Travels the country passing on the medical staffs of various hospitals. Likes the job though he travels quite a bit. Marty spent years as an outstanding practitioner in that field of medicine dealing with the part you sit on. I know the name but can't spell it. He says you're welcome at Chez Marino anytime you're near Orford. Thanks, Marty.
We are indebted to Reg Pierce for information about the V-12 Reunion. John McClintock will pass this on to you in his newsletter. Thank you, Reg.
The most difficult part of writing this is reporting the passing of our classmates. We have lost two more, Theodore "Ted" Fajen Jr- and James Henry Dolan. We extend our deepest sympathy to their families.
