It was strictly an oversight, my failing to previously credit the Midwest contingent's presence at our 30th, which included Bill andPenny Obenshain, DickBragaw, Charlie and Pam Henderson, DonSamuelson, Marsh and Susan Potterton,Gordy Owens, Doug and Gert MacPhail, all presently hailing from Illinois, as well as Al and Pat Huck from Green Bay, Wise. Fairness and geography dictate that '62's next birthday party or non-Hanover reunion should be in the Midwest. So guys, formulate your plans and discuss them with Kent Hutchinson, our reunion/social chair.

Clay Vaughan writes that at the time of our 30th he traveled with Brewster Jackson to Alaska to do a little fishing. Clay reports that he is now a "semi-retired orthopod." It's a great life, but for how long with daughter soon to matriculate with class of '97?

We were informed of other Dartmouth worldwide reunions held concurrently with the 30th. Day O. Mount reports of 20 Dartmouth grads reuning in Germany just prior to Day's return to the states after three years of service as consul general in Stuttgart. Day will assume the position of State Department director for environmental affairs while resettling in Virginia.

Other news from abroad comes from RoyHalstead who, for many years, has operated his produce consulting business from Brussels. Roy and Gabriele have recently purchased their dream home on Corsica and plan to spend 100-plus days yearly at this island retreat.

The Dartmouth Alumni Association of New York City (DAANYC) recently announced the reelection of Ellis Kern to its executive committee. DAANYC, besides overseeing all volunteer activities of Dartmouth grads in the greater New York City area, governs the Dartmouth Club at the Yale Club. Ellis will continue as DAANYC's publisher of The Green Gazette.

On a personal note, yours truly spent five wonderful days with wife Pat attending the NSTA (National Science Teachers Association) International Conference at Oaxtepec, Mexico. Sightseeing included a day at the majestic pyramids and ruins of Teotihuacan, just north of Mexico City. The Teotihuacan culture existed approximately 150 B.C. to 750 A.D., but mysteriously collapsed. For a brief but comprehensive article see the Science Times section of the June 29, 1993, issue of The New York Times.
