Happy New Year to one and all! May 1993 bring all the good things that did not happen on your 1992 list and several more. I bring news from a glorious mid-October weekend in Hanover. The occasion was the Homecoming Weekend, complete with bonfire and a thrashing of Yale's football team. Fifteen classmates made it to Hanover (perhaps more, but this was die confirmed number). Six of us started Saturday morning with an executive committee meeting: Peter Benzinger, John Burke,Gary Dicovitsky, Jon Einsidler, ShelPrentice, and Fuzzy Thurston. We went through our customary self-evaluation (as an executive committee, not as individuals suffering mid-life crises) and decided that the executive committee exists to get involved (however that may be interpreted). More will follow in a newsletter or a report from Gary Dicovitsky, so I'll keep it brief. We did discuss memorials to classmates, and whether it is best to establish individual memorials or perhaps a larger 1972 memorial fund (open for discussion). We also discussed a class project and got as far as deciding that we should do something with the class of 1997. For those counting, these are next year's Pea-Greeners, the ones who have either received early decision or will be sweating it out waiting for the April mail. We have time to crystallize our thoughts and try to come up with something concrete. Ideas included the following: counseling, scholarship, some tangible project, or sponsoring speakers from our class. More will follow in the next few months. Any ideas are welcome.

Other topics of discussion included nonHomecoming mini-reunions in other locales and the initial steps in the organization for our 25th Reunion (Burkie insists it's never too early to start).

We had a post-game mini-reunion in the Top of the Hop along with the other classes from the early '70s. In addition to those mentioned above, these classmates were either at the game or the post-game or both: GaryShanley, Rand Alexander, Jack Manning,Kurt Woodhouse, Duff Cummings, YoungDawkins, Ed Wisneski, and Mike Meehan. Kurt is in real-estate development in Minneapolis. Ed is back in Hanover looking around for a move back east from Dallas. And Mike was in from Colorado just to look at different mountains. Wayne Young was in Hanover for five weeks coaching rugby but was away at a women's tournament ("Elegant Violence"), so he missed these festivities. But then, he was with at least 15 women ruggers from Dartmouth, so I believe Wayne has found his personal Nirvana.

Fuzzy reported the arrival of a new Fuzzette named Marian born October 11, and his preliminary word is that she's built like a crew jock. Also making the rounds is a rumor about Brendan O'Neill moving back east to Delaware from the Left Coast. In a bad news/good news item, Roger Curley suffered a stroke, but he is recovering well in Arizona.

I would appreciate it if someone could have a weekend like this every month it certainly makes this job easy. Otherwise, you'll hear me knocking and, I'm bringing 80, his bad hip, Deion, his nicknames, and whatever else it takes to find out what you've been up to.
