The first guy in our '34 Directory, Stan Abercrombie, San Francisco, has just been inducted into the Safety and Health Hall of Fame. He earned this distinction, added to many previous awards, through his research and writing and his leadership in health and safety organizations that have helped all of us. He received the award at an induction ceremony in Orlando, Fla.

The class is celebrating entering its eighties in a variety of ways and with some unique trips. Bill Judd, for example, traveled to Nepal and India, and then celebrated Thanksgiving at his New Britain home for the 60th time, along with 34 members of his family.

I had a great start for my own new decade watching Dartmouth beat Princeton 34—20 and tie them for the Ivy title. Thanks to Barbara and Stan Smoyer, many of us had a fine lunch and were warmed up for the game. Mary and Tom Beers were there from Potomac, Md., joined by Vin and KatchCerow, Jean and Len Harrison, Dorothyand Bernie Cushman, Bernice and MayoCohen, Henry Bryan, Jane Deriemer,Florence and Charlie Levesque and BobBrown.

Sam and Alec Carson picked a beautiful background—Lake Louise—for their holiday greetings picture. Our Texans Ethelyn andRoy Rather found the Canadian Rockies a gorgeous area to travel through, and they plan to return.

Rena Moore is happy to learn she is part of a '34 community. Two more residences at Rossmoor in Walnut Creek, Calif., now have '34s: Babs and Ed Klee and Giselle andGeorge Collins.

Barbara and Art Willis tell me they still go to Westchester travelogue shows, but they miss meeting me there.

Thanks to Biz Swensson, I have some oldie mementos she found in Joe's desk, including a small Dartmouth booklet of 1933 Training Rules that included no smoking, no alcohol, no late hours, and exercise of judgment and moderation in choice of foods, eating slowly, and leaving table with desire for more! I'd love to show these to any visiting '34s.
