Winebaum has already made his fortune as the founder of a profitable magazine. While a senior vice president for marketing at U.S. News & World Report, in 1991 he conceived a niche that catered to parents "looking for great things to do with their kids." With the blessing of U.S. News owner Mortimer Zuckerman, Winebaum founded Family Fun magazine. After just two issues he sold the magazine to the Disney Corporation, retaining full editorial and operational control. Circulation is now more than 400,000.
