The class newsletter, a.k.a. The Roar, for the class of 1918 may have faded into obscurity, but the' 18ers are strong as ever! To whit: the College received a generous bequest in the amount of approximately $84,000 from the estate of Marjorie Emerson, widow of our classmate, Edward. The gift was made with out restriction by Marjorie and brings the class's bequest total to more than $6 million. To put that figure in perspective, at the start of 1918's junior year, the College's endowment stood at $35,549. The class was a good investment for Dartmouth. The class of 1918 "Wah Hoo Wah Boys" are and were a loyal group to the College on the Hill, and their gifts have been legion!
