Howard and RosanneGermain told us they had offered to take Emmy-LouSleeper, widow of Gordon, to our 50th Reunion next June 9-11. She accepted with thanks. What a great example! Probably, there are other widows out there who would like to attend, but need encouragement. Think about it, and act.

From Eliot Mover: "Harry Figgie, FrankHutchins (I think), Jack Ahern, and I were members of the Young Presidents Organization back in the fifties and sixties. Now, we're graduates of the group, being no longer young (under 50). That group recently paid tribute to Harry Figgie upon his retirement from Automatic Sprinkler Co." An enclosed clipping noted that Harry had transformed Automatic Sprinkler from near-bankruptcy into a major Fortune 500 company. Also stated was that his international best seller Bankruptcy1995 was on the New York Times top-ten list for nine months. (We hope Harry will be there for our 50th, now that he has more leisure.)

The Worcester (Mass.) Association of Life Underwriters has been training its members in CPR skills. And who heads up this program? Our own prexy, Stephen S. Hull, who is also a past president of that organization. (Maybe there's a vested interest there, with the companies keeping the insurance money longer? Just kidding, Colonel.) A worthwhile community contribution.

Via Luftposte, Harry Hampton advises that he and Peg had a grand time on their 84th Infantry Division tour. He said, "It might prove necessary to initiate a second Marshall Plan for Belgium, where every hamlet across the Ardennes was conducting constant receptions and open houses for their 1944-45 liberators. The German welcome was 10°C cooler—small wonder. A good, interesting group of vets, but not a one known while in the service."

A man of few words, Joe Fater scribbled, "At 74—still hanging around. Hope to see you all at the 50th." 'NufFsaid.

Help from another class: Don Furber '46 sent a news photo of our own Frank Aldrich, of the Dover (Mass.) American Legion, raising the flag at the Dover Recycling Center in memory of a deceased, long-time attendant.

Dr. Charles Youmans reports, "Just back from four weeks in England and Ireland. Before that, spent three and a half weeks in China and Pakistan. We travel overseas seven

months a year, plus trips around the U.S.A. We have a home in Los Angeles and another in Orlando. Retirement is wonderful! See you at Reunion in '95."

Do you wonder why some classmates' names keep reappearing in this space? The answer is easy: they're the ones who write to me. Why not join them? Send a word to show you're still out there. The address is at the bottom.

Now that you've finished writing your Christmas cards, send your biography sheet for the 50th Reunion Book to George Barr, if you haven't already. His deadline is near.

Thought for the month: To all '45s every where, and their better halves, SEASONS GREETINGS! We're looking forward to a superb 1995, including a fantastic Reunion Tune 9-11.
