A most welcome letter was received from Ed Small late last year. His home base is Englewood, Colo., but he spends his summers up in the mountains. Ironman Ed's activities include golf, skiing, bowling, fishing, hiking, and riding, plus some volunteer work for the Heart Consortium and Denver Boys Club. He reports occasional correspondence with George McCallum way down East in Adantic Highlands, N.J., whose daughter sells real estate near Ed's summer retreat.

Another New Jerseyite, George Baine, relates the happy news that his yearly fall trip to Nags Head, N.C., with wife Betty was rewarded with the best fishing in ten years. George still handles the tax returns for 150 little old ladies, ages 80 to 100. And he's just- ly proud of having interviewed Dartmouth applicants for 45 years and acted as treasurer of the Monmouth and Ocean Counties Dartmouth Club for 30 years!

Doug Atwood was found by phone in Marietta, Ga., where he retired in 1990 after a long career with CARE, including ten and a half years in India. He and Francine were just getting settled in another house in Marietta with the help of their two boys who live nearby. Incidentally, the two boys and their sister, who now lives in Washington, D.C., had never lived in the U.S. until each returned from overseas to start college. What a culture shock for them!

Zeke Billings sounded happy on the phone when contacted in Old Saybrook, Conn. The good doctor still works two days a week at Yale, where he has taught medicine for 40 years. Zeke keeps in touch with his number-one Ivy League affiliation via the Canoe Club as they paddle down the Connecticut on their way to the Long Island Sound, and he also is favorably impressed with the Hanover grads who turn up in his classes at Yale. Of course, his son, Richard is a '69 grad, too.

Another New Englander, Dave Chamberlain, is enjoying retirement since he turned over his general insurance business to one of his sons. Dave has called Bridgewater, Mass., his home since 1954. He and Pris raised six children there, two boys attending Dart- mouth, and now they have 18 grandchildren to nurture or spoil. Despite open-heart surgery 15 years ago, Dave leads an active life and is a dedicated worker in the local Baptist Church. He reported that his ministerial friend LeeCone is still skiing in Wolfeboro, N.H., where he and his family are devoted workers in their religious community.

Bill Galbraith and his wife, Ruth, checked out many areas of the U.S. before choosing to retire in Hendersonville, N.C., in 1979. They're still happy with their decision and enjoy year-round golf on the course where they live. And it certainly beats commuting into N.Y.C., where Bill was a buyer of hard goods for J.C. Penney for 32 years.

A final note—all snowbirds and Floridians, both genders, are invited to attend the '41 mini reunion luncheon in Sarasota, Fla., onMarch 31. The get-together begins at 11 a.m. at the Fairways Restaurant. For directions, call DonTaber at (813) 377-2603 or yours truly at (813) 925-7208.
