Spring is finally just around the corner, and the Sox are back in Florida getting ready for another winning season (we hope). I'm a little behind on my correspondence, so I'll jump right into the mail pile.
Annie Kakela spent a few months at home in Steamboat Springs, Colo., before heading to Chattanooga, Tenn., this winter to row at the National Training Center. Annie reports that Tricia Gagnon is head of the English department on Block Island. Kristen Knies and Dave Aznavorian are both teaching at Nobles & Greenough (where Annie also taught) outside of Boston. Phil Kerr has moved to Jackson, Wyo. Kim Davis is doing graduate work at Duke, and is living in Hohokus, N.J. Annie spent the summer in Europe competing in international rowing competitions, and came away with two silvers at the World Championships! Annie bumped into Josh Stein in Germany and Todd Millay in Prague.
Jeff Strabone wrote to report that he was leaving his job as director of computer support of a large law firm in New York and heading to France to work on his French skills.
I received an anonymous letter from Arlington, Va. After a bit of detective work, I figured out that the secret author was none other than Cindy Hansel, who is apparently too busy at her new job to sign her letters. Cindy moved to Virginia from Boston and is now working for the National Recreation & Park Association and living with Casey Hagerman. Casey works for the American Recreation Coalition in Washington, DC. Cindy reports seeing Bill Bush, in his second year at George- town Law, and Scott Gardner, who is searching for engineering work. Corey Quinn and Krissy Atwater live together in Arlington and work at law firms in D.C. Jen Williams and Katherine Aires live together "right smack on Capitol Hill."
Cindy reports that the wedding of ChristinaCaroe to Max Wunderle (Hamilton '92) was a great event. Cindy, Kayla Ship, AnitaReithoffer, and Laurie Gill '91 were bridesmaids. Other '92s in attendance included SueJoe Shin, who moved to Boston after receiving his master's in engineering from Stanford, Dave Berkeley, Molly Bradley, StephAuWerter, who works for an ad agency in San Francisco, and Andrew Lai, who lives in New York City.
Cindy also inquired as to the whereabouts of Jen Burnaford, who disappeared into the jungles of Africa, and Renee Holtzmann, apparently lost in Russia.
Angela Dadak writes from Calumet, Mass., where she and her family recently harvested their own cranberry bog, with the help of EllenReed and Carl Seglem. Ellen took a break from researching at Mass. General Hospital and Carl from work at MIT to assist in the harvest. Thanks to their help, Angela reports, the berries were excellent this year, and were sold as "whole fruit" instead of being processed into juice or sauce. Angela has since left for Poland to teach English.
Ben Neal wrote from Wisconsin, where he was helping his parents build a golf course before returning to Moretown, Vt., in time for snow. Ben would like to hear from AlikePhy and Margot Jereb.
Anne Wilson, who in my opinion has had the best string of jobs so far, led a bike trip through Spain this summer (as did Pam Lang and Amy Nauss) and then returned to Stowe, Vt., to work at a rollerblade park. At the park, she frequently "ran into" Rob Noworyta, who was teaching tennis at a Stowe resort.
That's all I have room for this month, but there's plenty more to come.
