APRIL 1994 Karen McKeel Calby,

I'm developing a habit of running into classmates in interesting places. First, the Plaza Hotel in December. I was there for an industry _ conference, and moments after I ran into The Donald (making wedding plans or some such), Roger Weaving came through the door. Rog, in town with wife Diane for a little R&R, now lives in Dix Hills on Long Island. He works for Aceto Corporation. Then, while on vacation in Florida, I was in the pool trying to get my two-year-old to have some fear of the water when Ned Mandel wandered by and said, "You're Karen, right?" Of course, with my talent for remembering names, I was clueless. Ned, who was in Florida with wife Betsy and "little Ned," lives in Bethesda and has recently bought a small publishing company. Ned bought out one of the three founders and now is running the company. It sounds like life is fun and only a little bit stressful. Betsy is on leave from IBM and enjoying little Ned, who is now one and a half and adorable.

Greg Clow wrote with a lot of news, most notably his wedding to Kathleen McCloskey on July 2. Kathy is a Harvard '83 and now works for Price Waterhouse. In attendance at the Clow nuptials were Andy Churchill and wife Jackie, Art Switchenko, Vince Pollard, Gwen Froh, and Matt and Karen Shannon. Other Green faces included Greg's Dad John '52, and brother Eric '79, Norrin Leach '82, Laura Partridge '88, and Heather Van Blaucom '87. Greg and Kathleen honeymooned in the British and U.S. Virgin Islands. Greg noted that their wedding was preceded by that of Art Switchenko, who was married in May to Peggy, but he provided no details or poor Peggy's last name! Anyway, thanks for all the good news, Greg.

Chris Mullery wrote to say that in October he packed up his things and left Dixon, Ill., and his automobile business to spend the winter in Aspen. Chris has been working for the Aspen Skiing Company at But-termilk Sports (at the base of Tieback Mountain) and as a professional boot fitter. Chris says that his "pad has a great view of Aspen Mountain and lots of room for visitors!" If you are headed out his way, look him up in Aspen.

While in Aspen, Chris has seen Michael Leede and his family several times, including at a "great Halloween party," where apparendy Chris Toll and his wife were in fine form! Chris, this winter adventure sounds like a bit too much fun.

Sean Bersell has been appointed the director for legislative and regulatory affairs for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Sean had previously been with the National Park Service at the U.S. Department of the Interior and was counsel and legislative assistant to Senator Pete Domenici.

Jeff Walters and his wife, Clara, are the proud parents of Matthew William Walters, who was born on January 15. Jeff writes that "Matthew chose a day with minus-35° wind chill to arrive. Five minutes before he was born, a 4.6 earthquake hit... and in a city where the University of Penn teams are known as the Quakers." Apparently mom and baby are doing fine while Jeff is learning to get by without any sleep. Jeff joined Scott Paper's consumer products division in January 1993 and is working on paper towels, "a low-profile $400-million business," doing new-product development as well as TQM and marketing research. Sounds like between towels, Huggies, and TQM, you've got your hands fall, Jeff! Jeff concludes with, "If you'll be in the Philadelphia/Wilmington area, let us know."

Cheers.
