"Ninety-four is going to be a great year."—Cancersurvivor Bonnie Austin Greetings from Sue McCormack who writes, "After almost eight years with Merrill Lynch, I've decided to switch careers. I'll be joining Putnam Investments in a few weeks as a vice president and credit analyst. I'll be analyzing municipal-bond issues. The position is in Boston, so it'll mean a big move from Los Angeles for my husband and me. We are excited to be going back to New England. Just think...all those Dartmouth weekends will be just a few hours away! Sue was also so kind as to update us on Shelley Mosley Stanzel, whose business is doing great. It has gone from a black-and-white brochure and a tiny store to full-color and international distribution in the past few years. Her company, Archiped Classics, sells columns and urns.
Krista Thomas writes in: "Hi. I'm still working for the FBI...doing public-corruption cases. I finally indicted and arrested six guys who I've been investigating for two years. They ran a rent-a-cop security that was ripping off various agencies. Went to SarahSherwood's and '85 Chris Mulligan's wedding on Long Island in September '93. They got married on the Shelter Island Ferry with all of us witnessing it from the deck of the boat. Present at the wedding, among others, were Beth Kostman (architect), Beth Riley (marketing person at Johnson and Johnson), JeniMoyer George (computer industry), and Stephanie Sempravivo Ferguson (Blue Cross/Blue Shield New York). Beth Riley and Jim Newman '85 got licensed as ministers and performed the ceremony—they did a great job."
Congratulations to Diana Goode and her husband on the birth of their baby girl, Kelsey. Also keeping us up to date is Susan Schoenauer Goswami, who writes, "I was married in May of 1993 (in Hanover) to Bobby Goswa- mi (a fellow Tuckgrad). We are living in New York City, where I am a consultant. Also in N.Y.C. is Mary Beckman who graduated from Yale Law School last May and is currendy a law clerk for a federal district court judge in New Jersey. Sandy Decker received a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard last year and is an assistant professor of economics at NYU's School of Public Policy. DebbieWhitney is studying classical archaeology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill."
Jim Cisneros sent in a pink card written in a characteristically logical fashion: "(1) Architect in Chicago. (2) Married in September '93 to Jennifer Dore. In attendance: Bill and Suzy Hizar, Bill and Linda Ogden Chip and Linda Mellen Jenny Plath (3) Living in Chicago with wife and two Great Danes." Gina Cannon also sent in a pink card and notes that she graduated from Vermont Law School in 1990 and after a year of "The Firm" in Philadelphia, returned to the Granite State and opened her own firm in Concord. She asks, Have any '86s recently been injured through no fault of their own? Call me!"
And finally, some great news from Bonnie Austin. "The past year has been a tough one for me. Last April I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. Luckily, I caught it early. After six months of chemotherapy and 18 days of radiation, I'm cancer-free. The support of my family and friends, including the support and great wishes of Dartmouth friends, really gave me the strength to beat my disease. I'm now back at work at Skadden Arps in Washington, D.C. Ninety-four is going to be a great year."
