Congratulations to Jon, who previously headed up S & S's education and reference division which, according to the article, accounted for more than half of the company's revenues.
Another article, this time in the New London Day, chronicles Navy Captain Arnie Resnicoff's career during which he has served in the NROTC at the College, was communications officer aboard an LST in the Mekong Delta, and witnessed the bombing of the marine barracks in Beirut in October 1983. His present assignment is as senior chaplain at the New London, Conn., submarine base.
Last fall Bob Whitney was appointed clinical director of the division of chemical dependency at Erie County, N.Y., Medical Center. He. is clinical assistant professor at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and also head of medical services at the Clinical Research Center, Institute on Addiction.
In a recent interview with a Milwaukee Journal reporter, Bob DuPuy described his last week at the College in 1968. He became engaged, was best man at his roommate's wedding, and received his draft notice. By the end of 1969, Bob had spent a year in the army in Vietnam. Oh, by the way, his birthday came up no. 365 in the first draft lottery. How many people today experience graduation weeks like Bob did? More than a few of us did.
Cliff Groen sent a note reporting he had run into Gary Horlick at the annual dinner of the Dartmouth Club of Washington, D.C., and had lunch with Howard Anderson, who has his own law firm. Cliff also reports he was the only '68 at the Dartmouth Lawyers Association meeting in Steamboat Springs, Colo., in February. Cliffs work at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) focuses on China, Thailand, and Indonesia. His work involves travel to the three countries. He recently obtained IFC's first mortgage in China and its first ship mortgage in Indonesia. Can Vietnam be far behind?
Bob Reich was the speaker and an honorary degree recipient at this year's Dartmouth Commencement exercises. In case you haven't noticed, Bob's been in the news a lot this year.
The peripatetic Jim Tonkovich has news about several '68s. "In Dallas, we kicked off the regional campaign with a dinner attended by Line Eldredge, Dennis Drapkin, and myself. Line is still recovering from his mighty job as reunion giving chair and catching up with his business; Dennis continues his legal work as well as being a very active volunteer for Thayer School." In Seattle, Fonks "heard from Rick Pabst about his horses, from ArtChmura about salmon fishing and Boeing, and caught up with Preston Prudente, who is busy keeping Arthur Andersen in line." At this year's Freshman Parents' Weekend Jim ran into Hank and Wendy Paulson, Peterand Helen Fahey, and Jim and Bev Lawrie. From the sound of things, there will be a lot more '68s at next year's Freshman Parents' Weekend.
