A note from Dave Haraway says that Henry Hillson has been obliged to resign as class bequest chairman because of ill health and that JackWooster has agreed to take his place. This explains, unfortunately, why Henry, who had been a "hope-to," was unable to attend the 65th. We send sincere sympathy and good wishes to Henry, while welcoming Jack on board. Fortunately, Doris McClory continues as co-chairman—or is it co-chairperson? We look forward to seeing Jack and Mary Wooster and Doris at the next C.O.W.
Do you remember our classmate who graduated from Dartmouth before he graduated from high school? That's right: Max Hewitt. I wondered why Max and Mickey missed the 65th, but a clipping from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, thoughtfully sent by someone in the magazine office, may explain: he's too busy.
Eighty-seven-year-old Max, and others at the St. Louis and Washington University medical schools, are hard at work on studies of aging. A color photo shows Max, in jacket, white shirt, and tie, looking very young, black-haired and healthy, seated at his home computer. A caption says he works at home when not at the office.
Their secrets? Though some are unproven so far, they are exercise, daily aspirin, nutrition, stress reduction, and antioxidants. Obviously, we can expect Max and Mickey at our 70th.
