Having again failed to anticipate the seasons, extend belated happy New Year best wishes to '62s, families, and friends. The mailbag was empty save one personal note, so thank heavens for Dartmouth's clipping service!

The Beverly (Mass.) Times reports the appointment of Joel C. Monell as chairman of the Children's Montessori School. It is appropriate that Joel has expanded his interests in education to children K-12, given his position as dean of Harvard University's Graduate School of Education and his personal educational credits. After Dartmouth, he received an M.A. in history from Harvard and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. Congrats to Joel and Diana, who reside in Beverly, Mass.

The Taunton Daily Gazette recently reported the election of S. Woodworth Chittick to the board of trustees of the Massachusetts chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Woody generously serves many charities, including his alma mater—he is on the class executive committee and is a district enrollment director and a fundraiser for The Will to Excel Campaign. Woody is vice president of corporate planning at Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. and resides in Cohasset, Mass., with wife JoAnne.

Two recent Pennsylvania publications bring us news on Dr. Stuart Heydt. Stu, as CEO of Geisinger Health System, oversees Northeast Pennsylvania's largest health-care network, including two hospitals, a clinic, a professional-physicians staff of almost 500, a chemical-dependency treatment facility, and the Geisinger Health Plan (a 21-year-old HMO serving 145,000 members in 25 countries). The Geisinger System, with its clinic, physician practice, hospital, and insurance HMO, is the type of coordinated and integrated system anticipated by the Clinton administration in its proposed health-care reform. Stu also was recently appointed to Wilkes University's board of trustees. He has served with distinction as past president of the American College of Physician Executives and director of the Columbia-Mountour Boy Scouts of America. He resides with wife Judy in Danville, Pa.

Vermont Business magazine reported the opening of a new accounting and management firm by CPA's Judson T. Pierson Jr. and Robbin R. Grill. After Dartmouth and Tuck, Jay worked for Arthur Anderson in New York and later with Smith Batchelder &'Rugg in the Upper Valley. We wish the best of luck to Jay and wife Susan in his new venture, headquartered in Hanover not far from their Lyme Road home.

Some news on Stuart R. Johnson and Sandy Apgar not available for last month's column: Stujohnson, senior vice president and general counsel for General Investment and Development Company recently was awarded the Greater Boston Real Estate Board's (GREB) Andrew F. Hickey Award for Distinguished Service. The GREB Award to Stu reflects his outstanding service to the Massachusetts real-estate industry. Congratulations to Stu. Congrats also to Sandy Apgar for his recent election as a governor of the Urban Land Foundation, the long-standing international institution which supports research, education, and public service-programs for excellence in land use and buildings in some 40 countries throughout the world.

As always, send news, we really want to hear from you!
