It is summer as I write this, and I suspect from the dearth of mail that everyone is out enjoying the sunshine. All I've got to report are a few stray press releases. Robert Swenson has been appointed chairman and CEO of Airways Corp., an Orlando-based regional airline (no further details available). Dr. Robert Tibolt has been elected president of the Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Tibolt and spouse Susan Fairman live in beautiful Salem, Ore., and have two sons, Robert and Kevin.

Professor Daniel J. Velleman continues to make waves in the mathematics world, most recently receiving the Mathematical Association of America's prestigious Carl B. Allendorfer Award for "expository excellence;" Dan teaches at Amherst College, and received the award in recognition of his article, "Permutations and Combination Locks." Joseph Donahue is also teaching, at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash. Joe's most recent book is PrimaryTrouble: An Anthology of ContemporaryAmerican Poetry, published by Talisman House. Last, in the "not a press release" category, Jan Sorice is back in Norwich (or Wilder, to be precise), after an eventful trip to St. Louis earlier this year. Any friends and classmates who may be in the area are encouraged to give Jan a call or drop by to wish her well. And, yikes, that's it! By the time you read this it will be October, the kids will be back in school, the evenings will be long and dark, and there will be no excuse for not dropping me a line or sending a few electrons my way via e-mail. Please send news!
