Ralph Richardson graduated magna cum laude and currently lives in a nursing home in his native town of Ayer, Mass. For 53 years he was town moderator and was also a member of the town's planning board for 35 years. He still serves the community as a member of the Ayer Historical Commission, as an Ayer commissioner of trust funds, and as the official town historian. His favorite statement is, "I am not retired," and he backs this up by pointing out that he is the owner and manager of a block of buildings where he leases space to eight businesses. He was one of 14 nursing-home residents to receive the Resident Recognition Award from the Massachusetts Extended Care Federation for lifetime contributions to the community.
