Class trips have played an important part of our class history and certainly have fostered an esprit de corps which is evident in our mini-reunion, Reunion and Alumni-Fund activities. I had to dig into the archives to discover the dates of all the trips, so here they are: The first trip was in 1985 on the Rhine River; 1988, Alaska, cruise; 1989 the Danube River; 1990 the Seine River; 1991 the Elbe River; 1992 Canada's St. Lawrence and Saguenay rivers; and 1993 a trip to China. Hank Pierce planned the Rhine trip while our trips chairman, Ben Doran, organized the last six trips.
President Russ Stearns sensed that trip fever was present at the class meeting in September. Working with Dartmouth Travel our class is offered an attractive trip "In the Wake of Lewis & Clark," a voyage along the Columbia and Snake rivers October 25-31, 1996.
A letter was sent to you explaining the special expeditions' cruise. If you need more information, call Elisabeth Osborn at 1-800-825-2123. Bits and pieces. Mort Berkowitz III and wife presented twin grandsons to two mighty proud grandparents, Mort and Marj. That is exciting news. Do we have any other grandparents of twins?
Your secretary received in the mail the proof of the 1996 class directory. While checking the 40-page document (48 pages in the 1992 directory), I found that VinTurecamo, who attends all the football games, lists a phone number for his boat in addition to his home. I'll bet Charlie andEllen Collis have a phone on their boat. To keep up with these classmates, I'll have to install a phone in my airplane.
For those people interested in statistics, they will find 295 classmates listed and 144 widows. Florida is the home for 51 persons and California 31.
We regret to report the deaths of Doug Butman, Norman Peschko, Pat Ulhman, and Lou Valier.
