Thanks to the efforts of DickHube, who followed up on our vote at Class Officers Weekend to have notes for the alumni magazine sent directly to the class secretary, I can write this column without repeating items which have already appeared in The Tearbag.

Ralph Specht writes from Sarasota that he sent me a letter in March or April, but, unfortunately, it must have gotten lost in the mail. He was kind enough to write again and says, "I believe I mentioned the following names: Richter, Webster,Moulton, Van Antwerpen, Ritchie,Krieg, McLellan, and Bill Russell. I may also have told him that Trudie and I were hosts for a luncheon in February at our home for a visit of Bea and DeroSaunders that included several classmates and wives. I resume by this time that a number of our members who only winter in Florida have now returned to the North Country. We nickname them 'the snowbirds.'" With a helper like Ralph my job becomes very easy!

Ted Harbaugh reports that he and his wife,Kay, attended a convention of 750 music teachers from all over the world on Memorial Day weekend at the Hilton Hotel in Chicago, and that he visited MelRothschild in Glencoe, north of Chicago.

It saddens me greatly to report that this month's obituaries will include Al Ritchie's name; he was my closest friend in College. Al and his wife, Jean, visited back and forth many times at Marj's and my home in Wellesley and at the Richies' homes in Summit, N.J., and in Florida. We saw a lot of his daughter Lynn when she was at Wellesley College, and I believe that many of you remember the delightful entertainment that his son John gave us, accompanying himself on the guitar while singing a very funny song for which he wrote the words and music. His older son Dennis also gave a lecture at one of our mini-reunions. If my memory serves me correctly, the whole family, including son Bill, also visited us here on chebeague Island. Great memories of great people!
