First of all, I want to congratulate Danny Marshall for his recent Pace Setter, but more importantly, I want to thank someone for finally placing my name and address on Dan's green cards and the initial card from our widows. So now you have no excuse for not letting, me know what you have done or will be doing!
Dr. Ed Patterson reports from Destin, Fla., that things are fine and that he is really going to try to be with us during our 60th. And, from another doctor, Quincy, Mass.'s, Paul Ossen called regarding attendance at the mini with his son, Richard '60, and daughter-in-law, along with another son, a graduate of Cornell. Paul has a vision problem which prevents his driving, but he still serves on the board of his local hospital...His dear wife, Bunny, passed away two years ago.
Gil Small writes from Wayland, Mass., telling of an accident he had as a result of removing damaged branches from a tree caused by our" late April snowstorm. Stepping on a dead branch, he fell cracking two ribs and collapsing a lung. Fortunately, an immediate response from an EMS crew flew him to Mass. General Hospital for immediate repairs..."Am OK now save a slight discomfort in the rib cage." Gil and Posey now have a brand new granddaughter and an older granddaughter will be entering McGill this fall.
I received a "newsy" note from Royce Randlett written from his summer home on Squirrel Island, Maine. Danny's recent Pace Setter tells most of Royce's doings except his enthusiastic report on a book he recently read—The Perfect Storm., written by Sebastian Junger, tells of a gigantic nor' easter in 1991 focusing on a crew of fishermen from Gloucester, Mass. "It also wiped out George Bush's summer home." Speaking of Gloucester, Blair Morrissey might be interested in this book!
Ginny Jenkins, Brad's widow, is in the process of selling their beautiful home in Duxbury, Mass.,"and moving into a condo in the same town.
When you read this, our '97 mini will be history and, fortunately, I will be able to continue my efforts for our 60th Reunion on June 15-17, 1998.
