Those of you with children may be able to relate to a recent experience of mine. When my childhood friend and classmate, Alice Watson, took pity on me and offered to help me finish painting my house, I did not hesitate to send her 20 feet up on the ladder. Of course, the phone rang and the kids could not be persuaded to tell the caller I would have to call him back. Some salesperson named Jim Leahy, I muttered to myself. To my delight, however, it was our very own Jim Leahy and I soon forgot that I left Alice dangling from the side of the house! Jim is living on Long Island with his wife, Noreen, and three children Joe, Meaghan, and Michael. Jim works as an attorney in Manhattan.

Alice survived her visit to my house and is recuperating at her weekday job as a CPA with Feeley and Driscoll in Boston. She lives in Tewksbury with her husband, Peter.

Priscilla Eaton Gumina and husband Greg happily report the birth of their first child, Henry John Gumina, who will be known as "Jack." Jack was born February 9, 1997. The Guminas live in Penfield, N.Y., and Priscilla has resigned from her job at the University of Rochester to become a fulltime mom.

Ann Munves Malenka and husband David are blessed with the July 8, 1997, birth of their twins, Emma Crosby and Jacob Cooper. Ann works for the College, and they live in Lebanon, N.H.

Finally, our travels this summer took us to Wyoming to visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Wyoming is also home to one of my favorite people, Kim McConaughy Vletas, and her family. On the last night of our vacation we had the great pleasure of being guests for dinner at the McConaughy's R Lazy S Ranch with Kim, her sister Carin '81, and husband Dean as well as Kim's parents Bob '50 and Claire. By the time we got to Kim's my daughters were so much in love with Wyoming that they inquired about job opportunities for me. If they have their way, I'll be employed as a ranch hand and writing to you from Jackson Hole next summer!
