Happily there has been a steady stream of'80s news as we appear very busy in our business and personal lives. On a nostalgic note which might well be shared by other "80 couples," this past November marked the twentieth anniversary of the meeting of Katie and Parker Small at the infamous "Freshman Mixer." The Smalls celebrated the anniversary with a 1976 theme party that was attended by many '80s garbed in clothes from freshman year and dancing to the tunes of the '70s. Of course, Green Machines garnished with sneakers and cigarette butts were graciously served out of a garbage can!! A great time was had by all. Dr. John Rich is the director of the Young Men's Health Clinic at Boston Medical Center. On the job he devotes himself to healing people who have been shot and helping them to find ways to avoid getting shot. In his leisure John nurtures his passion for cooking by baking bread and recreating healthier versions of African-American dishes.
Pete Marlette was made a partner with the law firm of Damon & Morey in Buffalo, N.Y. Pete is a trial lawyer as well as chairman of Millard Fillmore Health Education and Research Foundation. He is also a board member for Millard Fillmore, the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation, Gates Circle Development Corp., and Attorney Access.
Josiah Stevenson works for Leers Weinzapfel Associates Architects Inc. and was the project manager and architect for the Blue Hill Avenue Boys & Girls Club, which won the Harelston Parker Award for the "most beautiful piece of architecture within the greater Boston area."
In October Judith Recke was promoted to vice president of Merriam-Webster, a subsidiary of Encyclopaedia Britannica Inc., in Chicago. She will continue to serve as director of sales and will be responsible for setting new goals and directions for Merriam-Webster's sales efforts.
Also in October Brad Koenig was named a partner-managing director of Goldman, Sachs & Co.
James Meigs has been moving up the New York magazine ladder, most recently taking over as editor of Premier magazine, "the hometown newspaper of the movie industry." Jim lives in Hastings-on- Hudson with his wife and three children

I ran into George Lester in Boston, who reported that he and his wife, Blanche, had their second son, Jake Whitney, born June 4, 1996. Jake joins brother Benjamin, who is already showing him the ropes!
And just in time to qualify as a '96 tax deduction, Eliza Torrie was born December 31st to Cathy McGrath and Bill Kissick. Cathy and Bill also have a 3-year-old daughter named Carrie.
