In response to your correspondent's recent column on the notable ladies of Hanover, there came from David Folger '53 a delightful letter from which the following is an excerpt:

"I received my copy of the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine and, surprised that it was devoted entirely to Dartmouth women, thought to myself, somewhat longingly, that this would have been an appropriate issue to say something about my mother, who was in 45 musicals and plays from 1929 to 1954, most of which were Dartmouth Players productions.

"Lo and behold, I came to page 29 and there was your highlighted paragraph about her singing in the Mikado with Danny Rollins. Needless to say, I was delighted and pleased. I immediately got out her scrapbook and there was a great picture of her with Danny Rollins in that very part. "I wish she were still here to see your article; it would have given her great pleasure. As you may know, she died on February 16, 1996, at the age of 95."

Next year will mark the 65th anniversary of our graduation and President Manny Sprague has started planning for the event. Bob McDonald has accepted the chairmanship of the Reunion and is in the process of forming a committee. We will miss Jack Manchester's devoted services, but Bob will be a worthy successor and we are grateful that he has taken on the job. Volunteer workers will be welcomed and, since they are in the majority, the assistance of '33 wives is particularly desired. The dates of the observance are June 12-14, 1998. Early attention to reservations is urged and further information will be furnished by Bob as plans mature. The adjusted figures from the last alumni directory show that 188 members of the class are extant, if not all, like Ripley and Sprague are regularly playing tennis. Let's maintain that "extant" status until June of '98 at least. (Remember when '98 meant that 35-year reuning class, not the current graduates?)
