Mid-June as I write and for those of us in the Northeast, summer may arrive one of I these days. Tough spring and when I visited Hanover in April had eight inches of snow. Occasion was Class Officers Weekend and John McClintock gave you a fall report. Biggest event was 1946 receiving honorable mention as an outstanding class. But we all knew we were that and more! Here's some news about some of us '46ers. Hank Kruschwitz came through this area on business. We lunched together and enjoyed immensely recalling our days in college. Hank still with Rhone-Poulenc over in Bethlehem, Penn. On the road a bit, and was recently in Germany on a business trip. Gene and Gail Bokor out in Denver, Colo., in early June. It was a reunion for Boke's WWII group. Yes, he was on our side. Said he didn't recognize anyone after 50-plus years. I hope to see him later this summer at a place called Monmouth Park. That's a place that features horses but beyond that it has remained a mystery to me. Read about Dan Rothenberg in the Valley News. Seems a large tract being developed down in West Lebanon, the feature being a Walmart store. Dan was brought in because of his expertise in the land development field. Bill Beckwith retired March 31st from his roles as president and CEO of Intell Printing. That concluded a 50-year career in the printing industry, the last 16 with Intell. Bill received numerous awards and honors, including election to the Printers Hall of Fame. Bill lives in Lititz, Penn., and no, I haven't been there. But, I'll let you in on a secret. It's near Lancaster. Congrats Bill on a great career! Bill Riley, Whitey Campbell, and Mike Thayer were all part of a Dartmouth hockey honor at the 50th anniversary of the first NCAA hockey championship. That's a final game that Dartmouth played in and unfortunately lost to Michigan in 1948. Several other team members were there at the celebration, held in Milwaukee. But those were "our" three guys. That was one great team and three of Dartmouth's all time great players. Thanks to Bill Riley for the information (not the last—that's mine!) Dr. Charlie Cunningham pretty much retired in Springfield, Vt. He still puts in one day a month at a Bennington, Vt., hospital. Travels a bit and looking forward to an August trip to the Adirondacks and his favorite hobby, canoeing. Ralph Brooks Fifield in New London, N.H., retired 10 years ago from a bank in Sunapee, N.H., after spending years with the First Bank of Boston. Says he took up golf and he volunteered his scores. I give him an "A" for honesty. "Fletch" Ingals! Now there's a name from the past. And where is he? Why Carson City, Nev., where else. Been there for four years and in Tahoe before that. "Fletch" was a senior pilot for American Airlines, having learned how by flying all this "PBY-what-evers" for the U.S. Navy. He's retired 14 years. Was playing tennis but says he ran out of partners. Good to talk to you, "Fletch." That's about it. Be on the lookout for the news about our mini reunion last weekend in October. Be there!
