"It was the best of times... it was the worst of times"...A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens. So also for us in the ups and downs of responsive, responsible living. Booming economy, low unemployment, health care generally excellent (many, nonetheless, still struggling), dedicated physician classmates in various locations throughout the United States who have with colleagues throughout the years strengthened patients' living. Charles E. Richards, Quincy, Ill., retired in 1986, with Louise has taken a number of cruises: the Orient, New Zealand. In good health, continues consulting with a group of physicians, visits New England during the autumn color season pretty much every year. Came to college from Cleveland Heights, Ohio; long, long friendship with Ed Brooks, Baxter Fullerton. Robert D. Bright, Sun City, Calif., at 35 a chemistry Ph.D., started preparation to be physician, happily retired from family practice, continues consulting. William S. Curtis, Boulder, Colo., "semi-retired," is active in legislation and medical school concerns. Also is continuing longer-term professional concerns for patients' care. Eugene W. Austin, Indianapolis, Ind., retired from practice and became medical director of St. Mary's Hospital, retired again a year ago. Robert E. Bennett, West Boylston. Mass., retired 10 years ago and has continued lifelong activity as a cabinet grade fine furniture maker. C. Franklin Somberger, Hampton, Conn., since retiring a year ago has, with Harriett, traveled extensively and "enjoyed seeing the world" (Asia, South Pacific), plans another nip fairly soon to Europe.
