As I am writing this at the end of August, it seems fitting to begin with the wedding bells and engagements. Larry Breckemidge wrote to say that he and Leah Cummings were married in late June in the Colorado Rockies. The two have been dating since a fateful summer on Mount Moosilauke four years ago. They have lived in Colorado since 1996, Leah teaching fifth grade at"... a very poor, very tough school in Northern Denver" and Larry working as an environmental engineer. They spend a lot of time hanging out with Dartmouth friends, including GeoffDolan, who "... is working as an electrical engineer in south Denver when not traveling the world trying to forget that he plays with circuits all day." Other '95 nuptials this summer include Joanie Breen and Nick Van Rees in Portsmouth, N.H.; Jenn Chapman and Nat Schindler in Napa, Calif.; and Deb Baltzer and James Thomas '94 in Boston, Mass.
On the engagement front, Tim Rodenberger wrote to say that he recently got engaged to Diana Lopez Rodriguez, a native of Tepic, Mexico. They "met on a Caribbean cruise sponsored by our thenemployer (Micro Strategy)." John Alexander recently proposed to Amanda Sutton, and they plan to be married next summer. Both are in chemistry Ph.D. programs John at MIT and Amanda at Cornell.
In other news I was at Jenn and Nat's wedding in Napa and got to catch up with many of our classmates in person. The wedding party included quite a few '95s: Dana Brenner, Becky Gayman, Jamie Parks, Ryan Dodd, and Bob Geiman. Here are some updates from that evening: Alicia Lisowski has quit her job at Leo Burnett to follow her dream of painting professionally. So far, so good, as she is currently working on a commissioned 6-by-8-foot oil on canvas and plans to go to art school next fall. Justin Wells, Joey Mueller, and Todd Miller have released their first CD with their band Center Divide. It is called Lovelock to Winnemucca, and the songs, written by Justin, are great! You can't buy it at Tower yet, but check out their web page at . Chris Edwards and Kate Moyna recently got engaged and plan to marry next summer in New Jersey. As they plan their wedding, Chris is applying to B-school and Kate to law school, so wish them luck on coordinating locations! Jeff Risher and Jen LeBoy were recently married. Betih Wilson just survived the Virginia Bar, having graduated from William & Mary Law School in May. Speaking of recent survivors of the bar exam, Steve Hoffman has just moved to Boston after three adventurous years in Greenwich Village at NYU Law. He will be clerking for Judge Nathaniel Gorton '60 in Worcester this year. Steve joined many of our classmates suffering through the Massachusetts bar in July, including Carol Gilchrist, Deb Baltzer, and Jodi Walker. I'll wrap up this column with one more Massachusetts bar survivor, Zack Lehman, who has very exciting news for the class: He's a daddy! Zack and his wife welcomed a healthy baby boy into their lives early this summer. Perhaps their son, Mitchell, will follow in his father's footsteps after falling asleep to bar review cases for the first two months of his life.. .who knows.
I will be standing in for Adrienne Kim over the next couple of issues, so please send all of your news my way. 'Til next month.
