I attended Leadership Weekend at the College September 11-13. This was a new program, bringing together class officers, club officers, and other alumni groups. Hanover was beautiful, like summer, and since college was not in session, I even found a place to park. Attending were veep Bob Kimball and Jackie, his wife, mini-reunion chair Walt Snickenberger the Rev. Don Fitzsimmons and wife Mary Lou, and Bill De Stefano and wife Bobbie. Don and Bill represented book award programs from their areas in Massachusetts. New College President Jim Wright spoke to us, and I think all were impressed. I checked on our money programs at Baker Library. I'll pass that info on to John Mcclintock and ask that he inform you via his newsletter. I talked to HaroldBarr in Haverhill, Mass. He told me he's now working on his third retirement, this time for good. He worked in the family shoe manufacturing business (together with brother Stan 44). Harold gets in about three months a year in Sarasota, Fla. Said he won't make the mini, but will join Dr. Milt Cooper in Hanover for
the Harvard game (Oct. 31). Talked to Milt, too. He's still practicing medicine and when not, trying a bit of golf. The Coopers are the proud grandparents of a young man, class of 2002. Wow! Hard to realize that's 60 years from 1942! Talked briefly to bequest chair FrankEttari. He and wife Pat getting ready for the annual move to Tequesta, Fla. Says our bequest program is in great shape and he is sending all the info to McClintock for his newsletter. Looks like you'll have a lot to write about John. Reached out to Jim Felter in Scottsdale, Ariz. Jim left Dartmouth after two years and graduated from MIT. He spent some years in Saudi Arabia working for an oil company. Then he went with Dean Witter as a stock broker and retired from that 15 years ago. He's been in Arizona for 40 years! Keeps in touch with roommate (Crosby Hall) retired Dr. WayneFrerichs, who lives in Flagstaff, Ariz. Another of our retired physicians, Bob Clifton, has hauled out his lobster pots and is preparing for a two-week jaunt to Tuscany in Italy. If you didn't know, he and wife Dorothy will be joined by Dr. Bill Nagle and his wife Loila. The Cliftons recently hosted Prexy Buol Hinman and wife Joan and Joyce Caswell, widow of our classmate Fred Caswell. Also spoke to Welles Fendrich out in Illinois, Lincolnshire to be exact (outside of Chicago). Welles is in charge of marketing for a large holding company. He's very fortunate that a son, Dartmouth '75, lives only a couple of doors away. Howard "Duke" Schneider has a new address, now at 116 E. 63rd St. In N.Y.C., in case you're in the area. The "Duke" reports the twins are doing fine and are now 2 1/2 years old. They keep "Duke" and Miriam busy, but they found time to spend three months out in Idaho, out in the real West. That's about it. Will report next after the mini-reunion.
