Jim Lattin writes: "I coached soccer for the first time this past fall (my son Alex, who is now 7 1/2, was playing AYSO soccer for the first time). I bought Brooks Clark's book, and I highly recommend it to anyone as clueless as I was about the sport. I must say that my career path looks pretty boring compared to most people in this neck of the woods. I started teaching at Stanford in January 1984, and here I am still, 14 years later. Most people out here don't stay with a company nearly that long (in fact, most companies don't even last nearly that long). I guess the reason I'm still here is that I enjoy it and the job continues to challenge me." Jim and his wife, Marilyn, also have a daughter, Lindsay.

Hallie Gay Walden Bagley: "We're proudly educating our new son, Taylor Micajah Bagley, in the ways of older brother Beau 5. Taylor was born May 13, 1997, at 10 lbs! We are enjoying living in my original hometown after 20 years away (Manhattan, San Francisco). It's a great place to raise children, beautiful, and not too populated. I work two half days and one full day a week at the family farm, which is a thriving thoroughbred stud farm with 34 stallions. I do legal contracts (Columbia University School of Law '90) and assist the CFO in financial matters. Taylor Micajah is thriving and crawling everywhere; older brother Beau carries him around like a Kelty pack and is so grateful he has joined our ranks. So are we!" Jane Lowenstein Mairs is another one of us balancing work and family. She edits English as a Second Language (ESL) textbooks 3.5 days a week for Cambridge University Press in NYC. She has two children: Russell 10 and Sally 7. Jane also lives in her hometown, Larchmont, N.Y.

Sam Coffey is living in Tiburon, Calif., with his wife, Adrienne, and their daughter Caroline. He's a member of the law firm of Epstein, Englert, Coffey & Staley in San Francisco. Pierre Richardson is currently living on the Jersey Shore with his wife of over 17 years and two children, 6 and 10. He is the director of college guidance at Rutgers Preparatory School, an independent day school near New Brunswick, and does some independent counseling on the side. (Before we know it, he may have some '78 offspring—and parents—seeking advice!) Pierre and his family return to Hanover regularly, as his parents retired to Norwich.

Scott Marber writes: "I've just sold a health-care company I was involved with, so it's, off to the next adventure. For the last two years I've had a pretty wacky schedule growing the company to the point that it was desirable, but now it will give me the time I've wanted to spend with my wife, Molly, and four kids, 5 years old and younger (yes, there are twins in there; no, my wife is older than 5). Who knows, though? After a few months (weeks?) of singing along with Barney, I may be screaming for another startup. Or will it be my wife screaming?" Barry Hutsel is a lawyer in Ottawa, Ontario. He had worked as a forensic document examiner with the RCMP Forensic Labs before attending law school at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He is now with Macera & Jarzyna, an intellectual property firm. He was called to the bar in February 1997.

The alumni office sends me press releases, and I still have some forms from our reunion—but they may be old news. Please send me updates!
