The oldest member of our class, Sarge Sarajian, reached 91 last November and thought all of his health problems were over. He has trouble with both cataracts as they are getting worse—so, on December second he is having his left eye being attended to and December ninth his right eye. He is wondering what next. Good luck, Sarge. We hope everything turns out O.K. Please keep us informed. We look forward to seeing you at our 65th in June.
Dave Easton was shocked by news of Bill Scherman's death and, like all of us, called him Mr. '34, who did more to keep the class together than anyone. Dave has undergone a valve replacement, and when he is back in shape, he'll take care of class obligations. We could only see six football games this year, five at home and Princeton. We saw Dick Gruen at one of the home games and at Princeton talked with Marge and Stan Smoyer as well as Hank Bryan and Janie Dereimer. Perhaps the lack of a good football team was one of the reasons our classmates didn't attend—also health and a lack of interest or maybe our eyesight isn't as good as it should be.
Arne and Lucille Yensen are living a very quiet life, eating three meals a day, and running back and forth to half a dozen doctors who keep them alive and happy. They have decided that their driving days are over in July, when the lease on their car expires. They will be selling their villa and moving into a condo in Bermuda Village in Advance, N.C., where they now live. With no car, they will depend on the village bus to take them shopping. As Arne says, "It will be interesting, but others do it." He doubts very much if they will be able to make our 65th. If your health permits, please make sure you attend our 65th Reunion from Friday, July 11, thru Sunday, June 13.
