At this writing, with New England's January thaw yet to come (when the temp reaches 35), I'm looking forward to a week in Florida coming up at the end of the month. That will include the min-ireunion weekend in Stuart. A few weeks later the more hardy of us will be gathering in Hanover for the regular winter mini and class executive committee meeting.

A note from 5ifty Joe reminds me again to remind you again to get hot on your write-up for the 50th Reunion book. Do it NOW!!! And send it, along with a photo, to Joe Medlicott. The book will be made less impressive, less interesting, and less memorable by each classmate write-up that isn't in it.

A recent issue of the Med School's alumni magazine provides some interesting news about Paul Lena. Dr. Paul, retired from fall-time practice and still living in Concord, N.H., notes that the retirement of his brother Dick '53 marks the end of two generations of Lena doctors, but there are three more in the next generation.

Don Hall, still chairman of the board of Hallmark, was recently honored by Kansas City's William Jewell College for "significant achievements and impressive accomplishments in civic service." I daresay that no one who knew Don at Dartmouth and/or has followed Hallmark's TV and other successes is surprised.

I had a long, newsy letter from BobWaterman, who is still active and senior partner of a very large law firm (I count 38 on the letterhead) in Davenport, Iowa. By my reckoning, the firm must be 100 years old, founded by Bob's grandfather or maybe great-grandfather.

I got a strange e-mail from Ray Head, who said he was going to show up at the Florida mini, unannounced, with porn movies and a stripper! We'll see what happens and I will report in a later issue (if my editor permits).

Ann and Ozzie Osborn sent me a photo taken last summer on a Dartmouth/Brown Cruise the Face of Europe trip they took with Shorty and Phil Chase.

Once again, send your 50th write-ups to Joe. That's it. SEND ME NEWS!!!
