A couple of months ago I told you that at our September meeting of the executive committee, as we were discussing the building excitement over our 60th birthday celebration in San Francisco, scheduled for May 13-14-15-16, we realized that three of those present had 60th birthdays during that four-day period: PeteBleyler on the 13th, Ken Walker, the 14th, and Roger McArt, the 16th! Now both BillFigilis and Bob Garrity report they have birthdays on May 15, so we really can have a cake with 60 candles every day of the reunion. Bill didn't say, but Bob reports he definitely plans to attend. How many of you remember that probability lecture back in freshman year that there would be at least several folks in the room who would have birthdays on the same date? It was either Bancroft Brown or Francis Sears, but I suspect somebody with a photographic memory can tell me for sure. Anyhow, make those San Francisco reservations!

Henry Eberhardt, former class head agent and former director of the Dartmouth Alumni Fund, reports, "I'm leaving Sea Education Association after two years to become the director of the alumnae fund and special gifts at Mount Holyoke College. I'm really psyched. I start in late January. And really more important news, youngest son Rob and Maggie had John Henry "Jack" Eberhardt on October 7. He's named after the two grandpas. Jack is our fourth grandchild. Mike has the others: Erika 15, Amanda 10, and Zachary 4. Mike plans to get out of the USN next November after 14 years. Too many night carrier landings on a pitching flight deck and time away from the family."

Class webmaster Ron Wybranowski reported in December, "We will be moving in about a month to a townhouse in North Andover. We hate to leave the city, but time to stir the pot again. I will be taking a three-month (or more) sabbatical to make a bona fide attempt to sell my photography. I'll let you know how I make out. Joan is going to commute to her job at Ernst & Young until the end of 1999. I think she likes the view from the 47th floor of the Hancock."

More Moves: John Zabriskie is now chairman of the board, president, and chief executive officer of NEN Life Science Products, a leading supplier of reagents for labeling DNA, RNA, and proteins. And the mail brought news of his appointment to two boards of directors: Alpha Gene Inc., an emerging genomics company, and Biomira Inc., a biotechnology company specializing in innovative therapeutic approaches to cancer....Chris Hearon has moved to Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, Pa., where he will teach Spanish, after last teaching at Christ Church Episcopal School. Wendy and Mike Kirst are in Oxford, England, for the winter quarter. Mike is teaching at Stanford-at-Oxford and affiliated with St. Catharine's College. The undergrad courses include a comparison of recent English and U.S. education reforms. Mike promises to be back in time for the S.F. reunion. Make YOUR reservations.
