I found this picture from the fall of 1989 (almost ten years ago—yikes!) in one of my albums. It sure brings back memories of our first Homecoming Weekend...
The news in this month's column is taken exclusively from a prolific letter from Heidi (Smith) Daileader. Heidi writes that on June 20, 1998, she was married to John Daileader. Despite the Fifth Reunion occurring on that same weekend, Heidi had a record number of '93s in attendance (some of whom attended both the reunion and the wedding!) including: KathieHahn, Amanda Brown, Pam (Kunen)Henes, Jen (Campbell) Whalen, JennyRichlin, Jay Gonzalez, Katie Driscoll,Jessie Griffiths, Tim Wennrich, ToddSisitsky, Grant Gregory, and JimmyYoung. Heidi notes that she wasn't the only '93 to plan a wedding on the reunion weekend—Randy Wojick also tied the knot on June 20.
Heidi met her husband while working at Chase Manhattan Bank. After working in Chase's Merchant Banking/Chase capital group for three years, she left and went to Columbia Business School. She graduated in May of 1998 and began working for CEA Capital Partners in New York City. Heidi also manages to play on an indoor soccer team with Julie DeTraglia, JennOgden, and Kristen Siuda '94 and trains for the Boston Marathon with two friends from high school. Heidi is raising money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as part of a "Marathon Challenge" team. Anyone interested in sponsoring her or finding out more about the institute can email her at . Here is more class news courtesy of Heidi:
Cathy Kim also got married in June of 1998 to Brian Meehan. They had a gorgeous wedding in Napa Valley. Cathy and Brian are still living in the San Francisco area, but are hoping to come back east eventually. Kathie Hahn was able to fly back from Taiwan (where she works for Reebok) to be a bridesmaid.
Amanda Brown has returned to New York City after graduating from the Harvard Business School in June of 1998. She is working for American Express and also getting used to being back in the real world. Jen and TJ Whalen packed their bags and left the cold in Chicago to settle in Ljai, Calif., where they are both working for Patagonia. They seem to really be enjoying their proximity to the beach these days. Pam Henes is working for a law firm in New York City specializing in estates and trusts.
Jenny Richlin and Jay Gonzalez recently moved from Cleveland to Beantown, where they bought a townhouse and are (sort of) neighbors with KatieDriscoll. Jenny is working for a non-profit and Jay is with a Boston law firm. Katie works for an Internet company. ToddSisitsky is in his second year at Stanford Business School with a bunch of other Dartmouth '93s.
Grant Gregory is living in Connecticut with his wife, Kim. Beth (Beshear) Toft and her husband, Mark, live in St. Louis. Kate Wheeler was recently made chief resident of the hospital she's been working at in Birmingham, Ala. (and therefore she and Andy Snell are planning to stick around Alabama for a little while longer).
Jennifer (Schneider) and MikeHommeyer have moved to New York City, where Jenn is working at Beth Israel Hospital while working on her dissertation for her Ph.D. in clinical psychology. Mike is working in sales at Morgan Stanley. Keep those letters and e-mails coming.
