In case you haven't heard, our 10-year reunion won't be held next year, but rather June 14-16,2002. Other classes return- ing to Hanover at the same time will be the classes of 1992 and 1993. Katy Jozus Mooney, Karin Markey Jonas and Carrie Heinonen are heading up the reunion committee and would love to have your input. Contact them at 91.reunion @alumni.dartmouth.org.
Some belated baby news from Karin herself: she and husband Jim are new (relatively, anyway) parents to Bennett, born December 21, 1999-Just three days earlier, Suzie King Kornblum and Rob Kornblum welcomed a little boy named Davis. The Jonases live in Denver, and the Kornblums in Austin, Texas.
More recently, Steve Hafner became the father of twin girls, Wilson Eliza and Eva Bennett, in June. He and wife Lee live in Chicago, where Steve works for the Boston Consulting Group. Steve reports that Bret Megargel is in Atherton, California, working as a vulture,er, venture capitalist for Windameer Ventures, while Jeff Blackburn is managing Amazons auction site.
On the wedding front, Shari Carver married Paul Belanger, a fellow teacher at the Bancroft School in Worcester, Massachusetts, in Shari's hometown of Rochester, New York (actually, she's from Pittsford, but close enough). The reception was held at the spectacular setting of a nearby vineyard on a glorious July day. Kristin Ward and yours truly were bridesmaids, and Erik Resurreccion, Carol Bertucci Spindler and T.J. Raney also celebrated with the happy couple. (In late-breaking news, Erik, [a.k.a. Rezzi] competed in the most challenging adventure race in the world, the Eco-Challenge in Borneo, Malaysia, in late August. I'll have more on Rezzi's excellent adventure in my next column!)
Lissie Bates-Haus also celebrated her nuptials in July; she married Nik Bates-Haus (Wesleyan '91) in Middlebury, Vermont. Geoff and Kristy Bronner, Laura Gadd, Sara Burbine (our new class newsletter editor) and Jeff Spencer were the '91s in attendance
Jon Murchinson let me know that he spent several days in early May at the New Orleans Jazz Festival with Rafael Aguirre-Sacasa, Jon Austen, Leigh Zarelli, Scott Gray, Rich Winter and Randy Friedman. He reports that New Orleans natives Laurie Conway Williams and husband Claude Williams were expecting their first child. Laurie, any report for us by now?
Doris Lee Song wrote in with a ton of news. First, she's finished with her diagnostic radiology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, and will be staying on one more year as a neuroradiology fellow. She's been in Atlanta since graduation, and married hubby Mark in 1996. Christy Park and husband Chris Aken are living in Chicago while Christy does a rheumatology fellowship at Northwestern. Rosy Hong, husband Jeff Weil and their baby Jessica are in Hanover, where Rosy practices internal medicine. Deb Karazin Owens was expecting her second child in October. She, husband Jeff Owens '92 and first child Katie live in Fairfield, Connecticut, where Jeff is a pediatrician. Deb traded in her attorney's cap and is now a full-time
mom. (Deb, do let us know about baby No. 2!) Heidi Dollenberg Williams is living in Philadelphia, where she recently started a two-year plastic surgery fellowship, and Marjorie Culver is in Seattle practicing law, specializing in employment/labor issues.
Any '91s in Paris? Brian Pierce wants to know; he's there working at the law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell. Reach Brian at pierceb@ sullcrom.com. Also overseas is Richard Lein, who recently relocated to Warsaw to start work for Agence France-Presse. Previously he had been living and reporting from Riga, Latvia. His wife, Biruta, is Latvian and they have a daughter, Marija, who is 2. Anyone in their neighborhood is encouraged to write them at richardlein@yahoo.com.
