Not too much news this month, I although I did receive a few emails, including one from CottenSmith: "I am living in England with my wife, Phyllis, my 12-year-old son Brooks, a dog and a frog. My employer, IMS Health Inc., relocated its operational headquarters from Westport, Conn., to

London last year. The company sent me and several other people to London to build and run the finance organization. IMS Health tracks prescription and non-prescription pharmaceutical sales worldwide and sells that information to the pharmaceutical companies. It's been a tremendous amount of work, but a great deal of fun. My family and I are living in a suburban town southwest of London.

Although weekends often find me working, we've been able to see a lot of England and Scotland, as well as some places over on the Continent. I keep in touch via e-mail with DonHunton, Lenny Weiser-Varon and BillMoses. Any '78s traveling to the London area are more than welcome to visit!"

Anita Nolan sent an update via BrooksClark: "We've added our fifth member (not counting various cats, dog and fish). Bennett Sullivan Nolan was born on St. Patrick's day, this year, and weighed in at 10 pounds, 10 ounces. I'm still in pain! He has an older sister, Kellyn (13), and brother, Thomas (10). We are currently attempting to sell our house, in an attempt to build a somewhat bigger house (not in the woods with room for a soccer goal!). We are in the process of buying a lot where we expect to be building next year. I expect that things will calm down by next year and we'll be organizing some type of mini-reunion event again.

Joe Butler is head of the modern language department at Gilman School in Baltimore, Md. He has taught there for more than 21 years. He and his wife, Shara Khon E. Butler '91, have two children: Marina Corinne, born September 18, 1994, and Mary Ashley, born September 8, 1999. Shara Khon works in the merchant-banking department of Legg Mason.

Frances Hellman is currently on sabbatical from her position as a professor in the physics department at UCSD. For those of you who speak physics, you can visit her website: physics.ucsd.edu/~thinfilm. I tried, but Swahili would be easier for this French major to understand. According to Frances, her leave "has been completely consumed with catching up with writing papers, grant proposals and various responsibilities associated with being chair of the division of materials physics of the American Physical Society." However, I know she has also found time to play sweeper on an over-40 soccer team and do some traveling. Frances married Bob Dynes in 1998. Bob was a professor in the physics department before becoming chancellor of UCSD in 1996.

I hope some of you included sending me some news in your new year's (century's?) resolutions. Please note the new e-mail address.
