It was June 13,2000. Those attending the 60th reunion were waiting to hear our guest speaker Donald E. Pease, professor of English. But something else was happening. Bill Mercer, Ted Miller, John Moore and Sam Williams gathered with a large cardboard sign and in walked President James Wright. Ted Miller turned the sign over and presented a large check to the president for $350,000 from the class of 1940. The class is always up front—the goal was $220,000.

The 60th reunion was great. Sixty-three classmates were counted along with 60 wives, widows and children. Brownie and Joe Bird, had, I'm sure, many discussions about the weather. They decided it was going to be cloudy and cold so Brownie had beautiful, green jackets for each attendee. The class was prepared for the cold reunion weather.

At the 12 th reunion meeting of the class the following officers were elected for five years: John Moore, president; Jay Weinberg, vice president; Jack Faunce, secretary; Sfet Whitcher, treasurer. President Moore appointed Ted Miller, head agent, Cliff Holmes, newsletter editor; Bill Halsey, mini-reunion chairman; Elmer Browne and Joan Martin, co-bequests chairs; and Ann Berger, memorial gifts coordinator.

During the class meeting, your secretary reported that during the past five years 1,445 birthday cards had been sent, 78 obits had been prepared and 45 columns for DAM had been written. Always need material for DAM.

Dartmouth Dining Association fed us breakfast, lunch and dinner. Several of us (Fran Imo, Nick Turkevich and your secretary) wondered how many other classmates had jobs with the DDA. Drop me a note and tell what you did.

Betty Cranmer wrote to Ann Berger: "I was touched to hear that the class had put a book in the Baker Library in memory of Chap."

And from Creight Holden: "I'm sure I am the senior member of our class. I'd like to call my longevity a tribute to clean living but I'm afraid its probably because I never wore myself out resisting temptation." Can anyone beat January 1917?
