My life must be slowing down...suddenly I'm on the phone with people all the time.
Certainly that was the case for Kristen (Morrow) Johnson, who called me recently on Ford's dime from Cologne, Germany (well done by her). She and Brad Johnson are doing well in Deutschland, but looking forward to returning to the States in the near future. She misses ESPN, among other things, and says that the soccer in Germany's Bundesliga holds nothing to England's Premier League.
She will likely get no argument from Justin Snyder, who e-mails me every now and then as he tunes into the telly to watch footy from his flat in London. The big news with him is that his wife,
Subitha Subramaniam, is pregnant! Perhaps they can get some tips from Eric Vratimos and wife Emily, who were blessed by the birth of Isabelle in December. She's a beautiful little girl, and I was lucky enough to be there when she laughed for the first time—in fact, I was bouncing her on my knee when it happened!
Two other '92s who could give out tips are Walter and Kathy (Weigle) Florence, who recently welcomed Andrew Raymond Florence into the world. Andrew came a little early—all right, five and-a-half weeks and 5:10 a.m. is ALOT early but everyone is healthy and happy.
Hold it, another confirmed pregnancy: Ashley (O'Neill) Kleiderer and husband Karl! Due date is late August here in the Chicagoland area.
Two engagements to announce: Luther Hajek to Janet Shih, and Samir Desai to Nilam Shah. Both are planning fall weddings.
One sad note to pass on, I got this just after the deadline for my last Class Notes. Many of you might remember Clara Zurn's golden retriever Edson, as she had him our last two years at school while training him to be a guide dog for the blind. A bad hip kept him from becoming a guide dog, so Clara just kept him after school. She sent along a note letting people know that he passed away suddenly in March from cancer.
