At our May executive committee meeting President Hanna circulated a letter he had received from the stewardship office of the College. It gave a brief rundown on the eight scholars from last year who continue to succeed academically and to demonstrate financial need. All are under the wing of the 1939 scholarship for the 'O1-02 year. Also mentioned were two graduates who enjoyed our scholarship. Amanda Thrall 'OO earned a 3.2 grade point average and graduated with honors. Shaun Gee 'OO earned a 3.0 grade point average in a double major in biochemistry and molecular biology. He is the only basketball player in Dartmouth history to score 1,500 points and 600 rebounds. Currently he is playing professional basketball in Europe.
From the editor of this magazine comes word that the January/February 2002 issue will focus on Dartmouth's special places. Through a collection of anecdotes and reminiscences by alumni, faculty and students, he hopes to document the "sense of place" that the College has long"enjoyed in the hearts and minds of its graduates. So drop us a line with your special place on the campus and we'll include it in our Notes.
