Mini-reunion this fall will be more. More relaxed, more entertaining, more options. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, September 2729 Mark your calendar now.

Thursday night, traditional '48 gathering and dinner at the Wheelock Room, Hanover Inn.

Friday morning, golf at Lake Morey Country Club for those who wish; guests (spouses) invited. Or, for those who would prefer it, a leisurely tour of the campus led by a student guide. Class meeting in the afternoon and a special dinner in the Tap Room of the Inn Friday evening.

Saturday starts with a look at the future of the Dartmouth campus, a one-hour (maximum) presentation by a senior member of the staff at 9 a.m. at 101 Fairchild, followed by lunch on Observatory Hill, the football game Saturday afternoon vs. Penn and later a.barbecue cookout at Dent Cabin on the river.

All new and all different thanks to John Hatheway and Bud Gedney.

And now a special offer that is not from Gedney and Hatheway.

Dick Bredenberg offers: "Having performed the marriage ceremony for our three children, I have now embarked on the next two generations. This year I have married our granddaughter in New York City, our niece in Illinois, and our grandniece in Georgia. Does anyone want the knot tied during our mini-reunion? Weddings sure beat memorial services."

This thoughtful offer reminds me of the time that I was back for some kind of gathering (1950 or 1951) and several of us attended an elopement of a brother Phi Gam and his betrothed at the White Church, Saturday evening, spur of the moment. It was a nice service. True and legal.

A communique from Howie Hilton to Bob Herrick: "We're just doing great. Just got back from our place in Tennessee so that we could attend one of our granddaughters' high school graduations. I think back to my days at Lake Forest Academy with a graduating class of 29. Heather had 700 in hers."

"We know you [Bob] travel extensively ...must have the same attitude we do: Do it while you can! Our travel plans include two trips this year: July 18 we're flying to Istanbul for a cruise on the Crown Odyssey—Greek Islands, Malta, ports for Rome and Florence (been a very long time since we were there), Mallorca, Nice, Barcelona and on to Madrid. October 26 we fly to Athens for a 30-dayer on Renaissance—Rhodes, Egypt, Oman, Djibuti, five ports in India, several in Malaysia and ends in Singapore.

"Now aren't you sorry you asked how we're doing? Anyhow, Dottie is busy with her gardening and I'm into another book. Incidentally, you can read synopses of my novels at Books In Motion.com. As you'll see, every one of them takes place in places where we've been.

"Who knows, maybe we'll end up on the same ship one day!"
