When Green Cards, birthday cards and e-mails all fail, I begin to panic—even to the point of attending the annual meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Club of Maine! Of course, an added incentive was to hear popular Dartmouth history professor Jere Daniell '55, a Maine native, speak of Maine's role in the Civil War. I hit "paydirt" as I met Art Duggan at the bar! Art and Cathy are living in Lovell, Maine, best known as the place where famous Maine author Stephen King got hit while jogging a couple of years ago. They were looking forward to another great season of skiing several areas in the Northeast with at least one trip west, probably while visiting their three children in the San Fran Cisco area. While in the Bay area last November, they enjoyed a pleasant drink with Joe LaVigna and Stephanie, who are living in Sonoma. Joe is in the retiring mode and they are looking to spend more time in Italy. Art and Cathy also visited with Bill Beshore. Bill had been retired for one week, and he and Marti were enjoying every minute of their new phase. Art also mentioned traveling to Lockport, Nova Scotia, where he spent four lovely days with Joe Scardapane. Joe has retired from official medical duties and responsibilities in Seattle and he and Mary Lou have great construction plans for their "compound" in Lockport. Art was happy to report that all his visits found classmates in good health.

A great note arrived from "Mike" Miller—never realized his real name is Charles—After receiving an M.B.A. from Harvard in 1961, Mike opted to pursue medical school! He and Deny have lived in Charlottesville, Virginia, since 1965, where Mike is chairman of orthopedic surgery at the University of Virginia. Their daughter, Heather '91, recently presented them with a grandson, and their son, Sean, is a trust officer at a local bank. Mike, hoping to retire in a couple of years, seldom sees classmates—perhaps he will, after this message!

Fred Webster finished his last term of teaching at Tuck and headed for Arizona. Great planning—Southport, Maine, from May to October, Tucson from November through April. Fred, you have earned it!

Another recent grandparent is "Sig" Ginsburg, as daughter, Beth, presented Sig and Judy with grandson Benjamin—living in London, perhaps Ben will meet our grandson, also living there! Sig is serving as senior vice president of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

If you are ever in Hanover and don't really care about the football game, travel about an hour north to Monroe, New Hampshire, and visit with Dick Sanders. Living at his Lyme Location Farm, Dick has retired from his private practice, but continues to do some consulting in education and industry.

Speaking of the Hanover area, sometime try to find Jim Wooster, Doug Wise or Dave Allen. They must have felt suffocated during their business career—talk about the boondocks—their residences make the Middle-of-the-Road seem welltraveled! It's "mud season" in Maine.
