We have lost five men since our last column. On December 10, John Mitchell passed on after a fight with Alzheimer s. On December 31 Bill Depuy died in his home in Milford, Pennsylvania. Jack Coulson died on January 24, our treasurer Cornie Miller died after a valiant fight on February 1, and Dick White died on February 3. A '39 luncheon was held on March 6 at the Seagate Club in Delray Beach, Florida, under the auspices of Bobby Alpert and John Finocan. Your secretary had hoped to be able to give you a detailed report of the action but, unfortunately, was a bit under the weather and had to take a raincheck. Before the affair we talked with Bobby Alpert, who named some 20 classmates who intended to answer the call. We presume that Peter Cardozo will get the details and pass them along in Out.

We have been in touch bye-mail with Buzz Waters, who has changed his northern address to 20 Loeffler Road, T-520, Bloomfield, CT 06002. Buzz is in Tequsta, Florida, where he is having a tussle with cancer. Sam Dix writes that he had a stroke early last year from which he has bounced back. A son took over the Dix farm previously when Sam had hip problems. He now gets around in a mechanized chair, and from the sounds of things, he does get around.

Doc Tower is due on the east coast of Florida almost as we write this piece. Doc reports that he made Cornie Miller's service, which he describes as beautiful. And a note from Skip Morse suggests that he and Penny are headed to Key Largo, Florida, and expect to give us a call as they move through Vera Beach.

Trudy McLaren dropped us a Green Card from Henderson, Nevada, where she has moved to be near her daughter. She says she keeps in touch with Lois Kuhlke, and writes of "the good old days at Jones Beach picnics on Long Island with the group of '39ers."
