A thank you from Dick Everett for the class remembrance on entering his 86th year.Also from Bill Wotherspoon a thank you for his birthday card of the Dartmouth crew.

Stet Whitcher is financially supporting the Figure Skating Club at Dartmouth. It is hoped that club sports will receive funds through the student life initiative.

Bill Chapin was pleased to hear from a former POW,Jim'White '44. They were together at Stalag 17. Bill's new book Deadlines, Lifelines, about his 15 crazy years at the San FranciscoChronicle, comes out this spring.

John Cook '43 was cleaning up and sent me the 1940 Winter Carnival program he found. Carnival committee members still with us are Cliff Falkenau, Don Fox, Fred Fuld, Herb Porter, Jack Rourke, Ed Schechter, Dick Seidman and Jay Weinberg.

Dick jachens '4l sent a Reader's Digest story telling about Marian and Jay Weinberg creating a not-for-profit group to help find unsold hotel rooms for families and friends of cancer patients waiting for treatment.

"I'm in an old folks home in Arbor Trace, Arbor Lake Drive, Naples, FL 34110. I own my own villa but live alone."

Marian Weinberg adds to our "Sense of Place" with, "Dartmouth became a part of my life in 1937 when a friend, Jay Weinberg, invited me to the Green Key Dance—Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw's bands. I cut a day of high school and the principal was not sympathetic to my explanation."

Lew Chipman was a member of the class of 1941 at the Dartmouth Medical School. The following was in the DMS Alumni News: "Lew Chipman won no NFL or NCAA football titles, but as our class secretary for 24 years, consistently turned out a column of high style and substance, injecting his warm personality and feelings for classmates into his message each time."

Bill Mercer, Joe Burnett and Stet Whitcher attended Ted Miller's memorial service; Bill Mercer, Joe Burnett, Stet Whitcher, Peg and Lloyd Blanchard and Betty and Turk Turkevich attended Bill Cleaves's service; Joe Burnett, Pat and Walt Kelley, Ruth and Staff King, Bill Mercer, Mickey Miller and Stet Whitcherwere at Rod Roddays service.

Donald Joseph McCaffrey died October 31, 2001, and Robert Hamilton Castle died on November 25,2001.
