I wanted to correct an entry in a prior column. Karin Bravin does indeed have a gallery that she founded and owns with her husband, but it is not located on Broadway in Soho. The Gorney Bravin and Lee Gallery is located in Chelsea at 534 West 26th St. on the ground floor. Karen and her husband live in the village and have two children Jackson (3) and Charlotte (6). Julie Spiegleman is living in the 'burbs of Denver with her husband, Mike Shomor, and three daughters, Taite (5), Devon (3) and Quinn (1). She is busy trying to chase these three around and do some writing. The two older kids go to a tiny preschool in Denver that is like a Dartmouth mecca—it is so funny that this tinypre school has all of these Dartmouth connections. In addition to Julie's kids, Shane Swifts daughter, Annabelle (3), goes to the school, and his son, Severn (5), went to the school and was in a parent-tot class with Taite; Kristen Thompson Daley had two kids at the school—James (7) and Brooke (2); Tricia Augustin Schmid will have her son, Peter, at the school in the fall in the parent-tot class. Leslie and Sam Zales welcomed Jessica Rose "Jessie" Zales to the family on February 27. Said Sam: "She set all Zales family records at 7 pounds, 12 ounces and since then has been a wonderful girl, thanks to her big sister Gracie teaching her the ropes and her amazing mom managing their daily activities. I just add the humor factor when the kids crack up just looking at me."

My wife, Ester, and I have two wonderful sons, Kevin (5) and Davis (3). We all had a great time skiing at the Dartmouth Skiway this past winter."
I am not fond of bearing sad news, but I learned that our classmate Jim Christmann passed away of cancer in late November. Jim lived in Arlington, Massachusetts, with his wife, Suzanne, and children Peter (5) and William (3). Jim was the director of the writing program at Wheelock College. As a faculty member in the humanities department, he taught courses on American literature and African-American literature. Jim earned a doctorate in British and American literature from Tufts, specializing in 19th-century African-American literature. For those who wish, contributions in Jims memory may be made to a scholarship in his name at Wheelock College, 200 The Riverway, Boston, MA 02215.
