After reading this column, (1) take a moment to send your own update, and (2) start making plans for our 15th reunion June 18- 20,2004! Dave McCusker wrote this past spring: "Steff (Solms) and I have two boys, Colin (10) and Cameron (8), both active, healthy little creatures who keep us laughing most days. The Park School in Brookline, Massachusetts, is where we live, work, and attend. While I direct the school's development program (fundraising, community relations, etc.), Steff's primary volunteer activityis editing the monthly parents'newsletter. For a paying gig, she is the assistant director of the summer camp program, which is part-time and thus allows her to send the boys off to school wellfed and otherwise prepared and later to be at home with them when they return from school."Susan Brody now lives in Millburn, New jersey, with her husband, Stephen, and two boys, Henry (7) and Ethan (5). 'As a freelance writer, I write for magazines such as Parents, American Baby, Golf Journal (even though I'm not a golfer) and also write or edit for anyone who will pay me." Stephen recently changed careers from publishing (mainly sports coverage) to starting his own business in carpentry and cabinet making. Susan reports staying in regular contact with Bonnie Sard and Breena Welch. In her news, Roberta L. Millstein shared her perspective as a college educator (which to me sounds very much like the pressure on all teachers): "I am living in California with Gilbert Coville and teaching in the philosophy department at Cal State Hayward (I go up for tenu re this year, so everyone think positive thoughts). If you're committed to being both a good teacher and a good researcher (not to mention the ever-present committee work), there are always more books to read, more papers to write, more time to be spent on class preparation, more time to be spent with students. In spite of the pressure, I remember why I do this every time I see that aha!' moment in a student's eyes." Roberta also reported on the whereabouts of a few classmates: Molly Hoult and her husband, Rob, live in Seattle, Washington, with their two girls, Grace (4) and Rose (2); Amy C. Smith is teaching at the University of Reading and living in England with her husband, Brian, and 1-year old daughter Sophie; Tracey Wyatt was married this past July with Roberta, Steve Keenan, Sheila (Belanger) Spurr, Tim Burger, Brad Blaschak, and Chris Emch as witnesses; and Ross Jacobs was married in January and is living with his wife,Tara, in N.Y.C.Four days after graduating from Stanford School of Medicine in June, Matt Njaa began his four-year anesthesia residency at Duke Hospital. While at Stanford he frequently saw Neil Friedman, an ophthalmologist. He had recently seen Amy (Lafferty) Hsieh and her husband, who stay busy with their three kids, Hannah, William and Charlie.
