Our annual spring mini-reunion dinner took place on Monday, March 31, at Rene Pujol Restaurant in New York City. Most of the group was from the New York area, but it was a pleasure to welcome the New England contingent (Ken Davidson and Bob Joy from Boston, Nels Armstrong and Tim Dreisbach from Hanover, and our president Pete Webster from Essex, Connecticut). Pete reports that our class is in relatively good financial condition even though 0nly 39 percent of our class pays their annual dues. Pete also announced that he was leaving his post as first selectman in Essex to take on a position as town manager in Manchester, Vermont. Pete has just finished his fourth two-year term as first select-man in Essex and decided that there would be no more election campaigns in his future. After interviewing in several towns in New Hampshire and Vermont, he was offered the position of town manager, and starts a six-year contract on July 1. Best of luck to you and your family on your big move,Weebs!

Don Knezek reports that he has completed his first year as C.E.O. of the International Society for Technology in Education. Don established the society's Washington, D.C., office and will oversee the migration of I.S.T.E.'s headquarters to Washington from Eugene, Oregon.

I regret to report that classmate Jeff Kosak lost his brother, james Kosak '74, in a recent plane accident. Jim was killed on January 18 in the crash of a small plane just south of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. We send our sincere condolences to Jeff and his family.

If you haven't heard by now, J. Murry Bowden was among 13 NCAA Division I football greats named for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. Murry is the 12th Dartmouth player, coach or administrator to be selected for this honor. He will be honored with the other inductees at a dinner on December 9 in New York City. If there are any teammates interested in attending the festivities, please contact me so that we may have an enthusiastic Dartmouth contingent to honor Murry at this most prestigious event. For the complete news release, visit the Hall of Fame Web site at www.footballfoundation.com. It is a great honor, not only for Murry, but also for Dartmouth and Dartmouth football.

At the winter Alumni Council meeting Nels Armstrong reported that a new Alumni Business Center, equipped with computers, printers, fax and Internet lines, has been opened in Blunt Alumni Center for the use of all alumni who can't resist doing a little work when they "return home" to Dartmouth. I am sure that will make up for all of the work they didn't do while they were in college!

Be sure to visit ourupdated class of 1971 Web site, at www.dartmouth.org/classes/71/index. Html, which features pictures from our most recent New York City dinner. Many thanks to Don O'Neill for keeping our Web site current. Send us your news!
