Radford C. Tanzer, M.D., husband of Sheila Harvey Tanzer, and last member of the class, died June 12 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he was the leading (and first) plastic surgeon for years. The influence of his life was tremendous because of the hope and surgical expertise he gave to so many victims of accidents and birth defects. His legacy and dedication to his life's work live on in the miracles he performed on his patients and in his still used techniques of ear and hand reconstruction. At his memorial service in Rollins Chapel the altar was adorned like the perennial garden Sheila so lovingly created and in which Rad took so much pleasure during their eight years of marriage. They came to the 70th reunion as bride and groom, glowing as the newlyweds they were. His modesty was remarkable; of his famous and original achievements, he said, "I made contributions." These contributions brought him a unique standing ovation on presenting his paper on the reconstruction of the ear to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He was truly an outstanding member of the great class of 1925. Grant eternal rest to him, Oh Lord, and to the souls of his classmates, now all departed.

It is with sadness that I pen these last notes for the class of '25, their widows and families. I have felt blessed and privileged to have known many of these kind, warm and remarkable men who contributed so much to their class, College and country. I am happy to know that todays classes are mentoring each other over the generations and wish them the joy I have had these past years.
