As summer fades away, at least the rains have ended. And not a minute too soon, as the fall approaches and a return to life's routine is imminent. It must be a busy summer for the class, since the mail has been scarce. At the College, budget issues seem to have dominated the campus with the new market "reality" and its impact on the endowment forcing cuts at all levels. Nevertheless, the College remains a premier institution among its peers and our applications this past year reflect that reality.
From the mailbag comes a lone letter from George Hammond, who moved from New York City to San Francisco three years ago and lives in Orinda. George is with Leboeuf, Lamb, Greene and MacRae in San Francisco.
More next month. And do keep those cards and letters coming. Nancy and I send our best.
