News! Seems I was able to make Heidi Smith Daileader "bite the bullet and submit some news." And what's wrong with the rest of you? Do I need to hand out the bullets? Surely, something interesting is going on. Heidi sends word from the mostly-stay- at-home set. This spring Heidi, her husband and their two kids (Matt, 4, and Katie, 2) relocated to Darien, Connecticut, moving just down the road from Stacy Smith '94. Stacy has provided the "in" for Heidi, showing her all the hot spots for a mom dragging two little ones around. Heidi wants to hear from all of the other folks in town, especially all of those that she didn't run into while beach bumming for the summer. Away from the beach, Heidi has been part-timing at her old private equity firm, helping with Fund #3. (I must confess here to too much time in the Peace Corps away from all of this stuff, what is Fund #3? Should I know this kind of information? Am I hopelessly behind? Is there hope?)
Heidi then provided a round up of second baby news. Jenn and Mike Hommeyer were expecting No. 2 in September (hey—send in an update!) in their new place in N.Y.C. No. 2 will join No. 1,jack. Jon and Pam Henes, also are providing real life truth to the city that never sleeps with the arrival of No. 2, Eleanor, last May. Eleanor joins No. 1, Sam. Kate Wheeler and Sam Snell added No. 2, Archer, to 4-year-old No. 1 Clara last June. Katie Hahn and her husband, Joel, welcomed Anna. Living in Massachusetts, Katie, Joel and Anna get periodic visits from Heidi when Heidi cruises 95 to her hometown. Back in N.Y.C., Heidi caught up with Jen Whalen in Central Park, where she and Jen shared mother-of-two tips. Jen and TJ spend their time at home with Campbell and Cooper. Santa Claus dropped off No. 2 to Jenny Richlin and Jay Gonzalez last Christmas. Their girls are named Isabel and Abigail. Grant Gregory and his wife, Kim, are also in the No. 2 club, with William and Kathryn. And lastly, as far as Heidi knows, are Todd and Holly Sisitsky are in the club with the addition of Tyler, born in July 2003.
Any other No. 2 clubbers out there? No. 3? No. 4? More? Send the word.
Way back in 2000, Kevin Fleming married his sweetheart Laurie. The wedding party included Andrew Plumridge '94 and Todd Parment '95. Dave Cabot, Sam Kim, Jeff Pease '95, Alison Fast '95 and Kevins uncle, Norman Ellman '69, were all in attendance. Since then Kevin finished medical school at Case Western Reserve University, greeted his son, Ethan Michael, in March 2003 and the next day found he was returning to the Upper Valley for his residency at DHMC in internal medicine. Kevin, Laurie and Ethan bought their first house in Canaan, New Hampshire, where the three of them spend their idle hours in play and remodeling.
Kevin passed on news on some of our classmates: Sam Kim graduated from Albany (New York) Medical College this year. Riki Kveraga (nee Girnius) graduated from Dartmouth Medical School this year and moved to Boston to conduct her anesthesiology residency. Todd Burdette also graduated from Dartmouth Medical School this year and has stayed in Hanover for his plastic surgery residency. Dave Cabot is "still living in San Francisco, trying to make it as a starving artist." Should we send food? And Jon Leizman was working on his family practice residency in Cleveland while Kevin was at Case Western.
That's it folks! Note the new, temporary- address; the Peace Corps is through. Now it's time for a real job!
