In a little over three years we will be gathering in Hanover for our much-anticipated 50th reunion. Anyone who walked across the stage to shake President Dickey's hand in the fall of 1953 is forever one of us. We're beginning a run-up to the 50th (more accurately a walk-up), the reunion committee chaired by Dan Goggin and Bob Marchant has already met several times, and our goal is to have everyone attend.

First of all and most importantly, save the dates—Thursday, June 7, to Sunday, June 10, 2007.

There will be something for all to enjoy. On Thursday, for the able, there will be a Moosilauke hike with a barbecue dinner that night at the boathouse. Friday is the day of the golf tournament at the Hanover Golf Club. Bus tours of the Dartmouth/Hanover area will be offered, lunches with professional school speakers (Tuck, Thayer and Medical School), College faculty lectures in the afternoon, dinner under the 1957 tent on Memorial Field, an evening reception at the President's House, followed by a concert by the Dartmouth Glee Club, and then back to our tent for the Indian Chiefs.

Saturday morning we will hold a 1957 memorial service at Rollins Chapel, seminars in the morning (and afternoon) with 1957 par- ticipants and our class meeting. Luncheon is given by the College, with presentation of our 50-year gift to the College and an address by the College president, a tennis tournament in the afternoon, the main 1957 reception and banquet in the evening.

Sunday is Commencement. The Commencement procession begins at Rollins Chapel and we will march in together to be given preferred seating as we are honored and as we watch the class of 2007 graduate. Following the ceremonies, there will be a 1957 farewell luncheon on the Baker lawn.

A post-reunion gathering has been arranged at the Balsams Resort in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, from June 10 to June 12. The setting is beautiful, on a lake with a view of the Notch and mountains all around. The resort itself is elegant. It has first-class dining and golf, tennis, hiking, biking, boating and fishing on the lake.

In early 2005 you will be hearing from Tom Schwarz with a questionnaire. The results will be tabulated and included in the 50th reunion book due in your mailbox in January 2007.

The 50th reunion is a mountaintop event for all. The memories, the incomparable setting and the good fellowship create an experience you will want to share with your family. Those of us involved in the planning are already excited about what is ahead. Mark your calendar. There will be more news from the reunion committee as planning progresses.
