Our now-Annual Spring Out-of-Hanover Mini-Reunion is just around the corner, but it isn't too late to sign up and join us. It is going to be held May 7-9 at Allenberry Resort Inn and Playhouse, which is in Boiling Springs just eight miles south of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The weekend special package rate we've negotiated includes accommodations (Meadows Lodge, which overlooks the Yellow Britches River, one of the premier fly-fishing spots in the area), a wine and cheese party, two dinners, two full breakfasts, and reserved seats Saturday night for the live performance of Smokey Joe's Cafe, the longest running Broadway revue ever, at Allenberry's on-site theater. Optional additional weekend activities include golf, fly-fishing, tennis and visiting historic Gettysburg Battlefield or Carlisle Barracks, home of the U.S. Army War College. The Allenberry Inn is an easy 60- to 75-minute drive from Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, so for those of you unable to make it to Hanover or way down south, this is an ideal opportunity to get together with some of your classmates for some good times. Call Allenberry directly at (717) 258-3211, ask for Leslie and refer to the Dartmouth class of '65 reservation block. Or e-mail her at aberry@epix.net. Cost for two for the entire weekend, including the play and all meals is only $289.95 single and $214.95 Per person shared.

Not to sound like a broken record, but it isn't too early to start looking ahead to this year's fall mini-reunion in Hanover October 15-17 either. Since this will not be held on Homecoming weekend for the first time in well over a decade, we will not have the usual parade or the bonfire, but we will organize something for Friday night, tailgate Saturday before the football game, enjoy Big Green victory on the gridiron, retire to Pierce's for the traditional Saturday night 'tails party and dinner, and the Sunday morning class meeting, also at Pierces Inn.

Enough travelogue. On to some classmate news. There isn't too much this month, so I'll be contacting a few of you for inputs for fu- ture columns. Here's one: Charlie Strauss will be retiring in mid-May this year from his position as president of Unilevers home and personal care North America unit. Charlie worked over- seas in London and Rotterdam for 18 years for the company, having come up by way of reporting for The Wall Street Journal, heading Ragu Foods and heading Langnese-Iglo, a subsidiary of Unilever, and then was the CEO of Lever Brothers before heading Unilevers South American operations. He has been in his present position since 1999. Well done, Charlie, and good luck in your next venture.

More news on classmates, I hope, next column. C'mon spring!
